Back it now!
Back Venture City now on Kickstarter!
Any chance of updating this with a pre-order page at some point?
The pre-order through Backerkit closed on 4/1 but we’ll have a buy link here as soon as it’s available on our web store.
Is the version currently up on DTRPG the final version?
Should be.
I want to buy this, can’t find it on Kickstarter, no link on this particular page, and have checked regularly.
Check evilhat.com/store or DriveThruRPG.com — the title releases Monday, June 20th.
Hi,
I just bought this from drive thru. I really liked it, however I’d like to request a something if any revision is made:
I really like the power breakdown of the sample characters, but I feel it could be more thorough regarding drawbacks and collateral damage effects, like what specific power you’re tying them to, maybe be explicit when you’re taking something from the catalog or when you’re making it up “on the fly” (I know you’re making everything up anyway, but I find it would be a useful and didactic distinction. As to who “you” is, I’m assuming whomever is wearing the Evil Hat), etc. I would also appreciate further discussion on why to make a power with many synergies or a set of different powers. Finally, I’d really like to see the same breakdown process on the NPC’s in the module/setting chapter.
Minor pet peeve: the suggested wall crawling drawbacks and the suggested wall crawling collateral damage effects assume the power works in completely different ways!
@pablo, thanks for getting in touch! Though the book won’t go into more detail (we’re printed and in distribution now) our Fate Core G+ community is a great place to talk with folks about expanding on that content.
Just purchased from DriveThruRPG.
I’m so impressed with the way powers have been implemented. I quickly generated wolverine, in about 15 minutes. It is impressive how the rules enable this kind of build. The mutants and masterminds version is 2 pages long, with a feat / skill tree that is unwieldy.
I will be buying the book as well. (thanks for making this a full colour product as well)
I would like this added to Hero Lab, please.
Check in with the Lone Wolf folks and see if they are up for it. They can initiate the licensing discussion and do the programming.
“requires Fate Core to play”
According to the fate core rules, the minimum number of players is 3; but venture city has a minimum requirement of 2 players. Does that mean the core rules can be easily adapted for only 2 players?
Yep, Fate Core can be run with any positive integer of players, we just recommend 3-6. If you have fewer than three players you have to adapt the Phase Trio section of character creation somewhat. There is advice for how to do that here: https://fate-srd.com/fate-core/phase-trio#fewer-than-three-players
Great. Thanks for your reply, Sean.
