I missed the Kickstarter. How do I order a copy of Race to Adventure! ?
Race To Adventure is on a boat as I type and soon will be in our distributor’s warehouse. First we’re going to send out all copies to backers and then the game will be available for sale on our online store as well as in your Friendly Local Game Store (FLGS). All things going as they should, you should see it available within the next few months.
Why is there always a gorilla?
The thing to ask about other books is: why ISN’T there always a gorilla?
Do you question the awesome of Professor Khan? Read Dinocalypse Now and you will be asking the same question Fred does!
The only good reason for there not being a gorilla would be if there was a giant lizard and/or robot. Of course, if there was a gorilla as well then that would be even better.
My high school history teacher taught me how to judge a book by it’s cover. On a scale of 0 (the worst) to 5 (the best) a cover gets one point for the inclusion of each of these:
1. An explosion (Zeppelin blowing up, check)
2. A chase or a fight (Ornithopter chasing in the background, check)
3. Someone holding a cool looking weapon or gun (Jet Black in the SotC icon, check)
4. A monster or non-human creature (Professor Khan, check)
5. A cool vehicle (Bi-plane, Ornithopter, Zeppelin AND Jet Packs, check, check, check, check!)
So, on a scale of 0 to 5, I give RTA an 8!
Who the hell translated the german version of the rulebook? Google? This is awfull.
I’m native german and I’ll translate the rules for you, if you want. But please don’t use the german pdf rulebook for print. PLEASE!
Hi Markus,
We had a translator do the Rulebook and Location Guide but have since heard that there were some problems with it. We’re having a new translator do the expansions now and then revisit the Rulebook and Location guide. Those should be done in a month or so.
Hi, thanks for bring me the great game.
May I know more about how the Shadow location: Schweiz works?
E.g. Start from Schweiz and pick Zeppelin, may I do the below?
1. Finish the mission at Schweiz
2. Use the Schweiz action to move adjacent – location B
3. Complete the location B mission
4. Use Zeppelin to move to location C
5. Complete location C mission
That means, in 1 round, I could access and complete 3 locations and missions.
Thanks a lot.
The Location Guide explains this feature of Shadow Schweiz rather clearly:
“Action: Swiss combo – If you moved to this location with the Zeppelin, you may move 1 space left, right, up or down. Ignore barriers. You may do this action after collecting the stamp.”
So 4 and 5 in your example don’t apply, because in order to do #2, you’d need to have already arrived at Schweiz via the zeppelin that turn.
I own a copy of this game and it’s fantastically fun, although it was missing parts when I received it (Professor Khan’s card) and all attempts to contact EvilHat were met with no response.
Hi Mick, I’ll follow up on this with you over email. We’ll sort it out!
