This is one of the few things that triggers my “take my money” reflex. When shall this be available and how much is it going to cost me? Will it be Kindle formatted?

Hi Bryce,
It is in the writing/editing stages now, then it will go to play-test, more editing, layout, and art. No dates yet (hence the TBD) or cost. Yep, we’ll do digital formats for sure. .Mobi (Kindle) is under consideration, and fairly likely.

My jaw literally dropped open when I read this announcement – words cannot describe how excited this makes me feel.
So who is it I make my blank cheque out to, again?

I agree on the reflexive “take my money”.
I’ve currently got a Fate LARP running, and would be ecstatic if I could playtest this.
I’m guessing it doesn’t need a Kickstarter?

So excited! We’ve wanted to play this as a LARP since discovering the game. Can’t wait to play it.

Will this be boffer or just roleplay?

Spent many years running White Wolf LARPs until I burned out. Quite likely will buy this, but not sure if I would ever actually run/play it. Maybe if I can find acceptable players and it be an annual thing like perhaps Halloween party?

Why isn’t Harry wearing a hat?!?!?
I thought that by convention, all Harry Dresden cover art must feature a hat soas to annoy Jim Butcher.
On another note… \|/Awesome\|/
Any estimated date on when we will have an estimated release date?

So, being an avid MES/WW LARPer and just now getting in to the world of Boffer LARP, I just have to take a moment to squee in a corner before saying I would gladly play test this for you guys and I have a large group that would be willing to help me.

So happy that I’ve been apart of this game and making it a reality. Go you guys! Awesome
When we have a playtest plan, we’ll share it. There’s nothing to share on that front right now.
Shoshana will be running the game at GenCon, WyrdCon, and DexCon this year, at the least; do what you can to get in!

I used to be semi-active LARPer in my teens… I’ve even fallen out of touch of most of the people I used to play with… but this… DAMN! I sure as hell would love to be a part of a Dresden-Live…
It’s a shame that my location (Finland) is a BIG obstacle when it comes to the playtesting…

Since Jim Butcher LARPs, is he involved in this project directly?

Where’s Dresden’s hat? The one he never wears? But has in every book cover?
Jim will have a look at it, but he plays a different style of LARP than this is (his is more boffer than dramatic).

Hi Brigitte,
Yes, the role-playing game is a tabletop RPG. This will be a Live Action game with it’s own LARP rules!

This sounds fabulous, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the finished book.

Hi Sean Nitter,
This is Awesome! Myself and some friends have been looking to start our own Dresden Files LARP as we have a table top game going. We have loved the idea of a Dresden Files LARP since we first heard about some unofficial Dresden Files LARP going on at some Cons and in some towns that we found on the Internet. We have been reading rules that others have used for their Dresden Files LARP and other LARPS and trying to fit all the stuff in the Dresden Files table top into the Dresden Files LARP. We have some great ideas we would love to pass on to you all if any of it can help it’s yours for the taking in hopes that it helps to get it out to the fans any faster. Also we would LOVE to be a Play Testing Group for you all.
From all of us at Holy City LARP
THANK YOU for all of your hard work and the many hours of enjoyment your games have given all of us.

Wow! I haven’t LARPed in 10 years. This could bring me back to the theater. Or lecture hall. Or wherever else the university will let us play. 🙂
Not right now. The game has been getting playtested at a few conventions & elsewhere over the past couple years; we’ll sort out that plan later. Too early in the implementation process.

Is this the implementation of Dresden Files Accelerated from the Fate Core kickstarter, or will that be a separate product?

That cover art is fantastic (even if it’s just a mockup)! Any chance it will be made available as desktop wallpaper?
Cool. BEANS! Looking forward to reading more about this. Now all I have to do is figure out how to run such a thing safely in an urban environment that’s almost as dangerous as Harry’s Chicago…

Steve – Cover says “Dramatic Live Action Roleplaying” and the Dramatic isn’t a fluff word there — this is not a boffer-style LARP.
Will you need playtesters? *volunteers*
we’d been discussing adapting tabletop to LARP to play a live action Dresden Files. i’m unbelievably excited this is happening!
We have a group of about 30 that weekly larp several different genres and would love to assist with playtest as well.
It’s been seeing playtesting for the last couple years, but we’ll keep folks updated about that as development progresses.
I am in. Hurry up and take my money!
Um, how does one get involved in the aforementioned play testing, or at all for that matter?
So where and when are playtests?
When we have a playtest plan, we’ll share it. There’s nothing to share on that front right now.

You asked for it. Open play-testing is happening:
Play-test applications are open now! Fill out the Google form to apply: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/150M21hhuZ-j-rWgLe1z31WBUhPtB4czah_KB1ZtbIr4/viewform
We’ll be accepting applications until 5/2 and then selecting participants in week following.
I hope something is available (even playtest rules) when DragonCon comes around Labor Day. It would be a huge hit there.
Hi Steve,
See the comment just above yours. Play-test rules will be out in May. Apply on the link above.
