Awesome! It looks great. Can’t wait until it comes out for sale.
Yep, me too! Daniel Solis is turning in layout complete chapters now and Fred will soon be placing art orders to fill them up!
Awesome. I know this has been years in the making, but it sounds like it is really going to be worth the wait!
I believe the correct saying for this situation is “Shut up, and take my money!” 🙂
Dear Baby Jesus, Can Mika Kuloda please illustrate everything forever? Love, me.
Except Dresden Files covers. We still love Chris McGrath for that.
Mika is my patron saint of art! She rocks it. Consider me a pre-order. I can’t wait!
I’ve put my money in a can for 3 copies…. don’t let it collect too much dust!
“Shut up and take my money!” is all the really needs to be said.
First draft of layout complete version turned in by Daniel Solis. Fred is taking that an making art orders while Daniel revises, polishes, and generally makes awesome the rest of layout.
Will there be a three-book bundle of this with OW and YS?
Not a bundle exactly, but our webstore offers free domestic shipping in the USA for orders $80 and up. But we’ll see. We have to have the physical book before we can make any final decisions there.
I really hope Paranet Papers is still in the works. It seems the latest bit of news is quite old…
…Either that, or I’m blind…
Can’t wait to get my grubby little mitts on the new book!
Hi Ben, check the comments above. Last update was 3/31 (11 days ago). We’re doing art orders now!
Not to mention it’s covered in some detail in the latest State of the Hat post — http://www.evilhat.com/home/state-of-the-hat-march-2014/
Huzzah! Looking forward to it!
Thank you Fred, Sean, Chris, Carrie… I backed Fred for Fate, Dice, and now I’m a patreon too 😛
You guys took my favourite book series and made it come alive.
Thank you!
Very happy to be part of the team making this happen! Some of the art we’ve already gotten in has been just amazing! Check out the latest: https://twitter.com/EvilHatOfficial/status/466284077252108289
Hi Evil Hat: Any update on a release date for Paranet Papers? 🙂
In layout and art acquisition now (some of the art posted on our twitter feed.) Estimate completing in the Fall and printing in Q4 2014.
Artwork is great so far. Looking forward to the end of the year!
Looks good cannot wait to get my hands on it
NEEED IT!
We wants it!
Stop teasing me with this, when is it coming????? I am looking forward to the possibilities this expansion would open up.
Q1 2015… But we will tease you with something else in the next couple months. Can’t help ourselves, we like sharing.
That’s true. They really can’t. 😉
How can I pre-order it?
We’ll announce on the site and the newsletter as soon as pre-orders are open. If you’re not already on it. Here’s the link to get on the newsletter if you’re not there already: http://eepurl.com/uV1an
Quick question re: the next teaser or so. Any chance we can get a list of chapters to be included in PP, with a one-line synopsis for each? The brief snippets of individual chapters have been awesome, but I’d also like a “bird’s eye view” of the entire book.
Hi John, sure thing.
1. Vegas – Setting chapter for running games in Vegas.
2. Russia – Setting chapter for running games during the Russian Revolution
3. Neverglades – Setting chapter for the Neverglades
4. Las Tierras Rojas Setting chapter for Chichen Itza, seat of the Red King
5. The Ways Between – A road tripping setting chapter – Dresden ala Supernatural.
6. Spellcasting – Updates to the spellcasting rules
7. Goes Bump – The Monster Mash Chapter
8. Who’s Who – Updated stat blocks and some ones too!
Awesome, thank you VERY much!
Any more info on a release date?
Check the Project Status page for updates. But right now I know were down to filling out Page XX references and Stat Blocks which means VERY CLOSE TO PRINTING!
Everything about this is yes.
Me and some friends are running a small dresden game now. The base book already covers a ton of most anything I could need to build. So I’m super curious what the updated spellcasting will give me to torture my players. Keep up the great work 😀
I am DYING, waiting for this!
Chewing the walls!
I’ve run so many modern-horror and modern-fantasy games in Vegas. I ran a World of Darkness (old-school) campaign there called “Bright Lights, Deep Shadows,” a Mage: the Ascension campaign titled “The City of Entropy,” and a modern-fantasy-horror campaign of my own design (think “Chill” meets “Unknown Armies”) titled “Luck Ain’t A Lady…” For reasons I can only guess at, Vegas in the Dresden-verse never even occurred to me, but news of this has set my imagination ablaze.
Index was turned in on the 13th. Now just to add it to layout, do final approvals and print. Soooooooo soon.
Waiting for this too… I keep on at my wife to run a follow on game from my Dresden Game that I finished last year, but if this is out soon, I think I’ll beat her to it.
Any estimates on when it’ll go up for pre-order? I was surprised to see there wasn’t anything in the online store.
Doesn’t make sense to put it on the store until, at the very least, we have a release date and a price finalized. Those await one more quote from the printer, which awaits completion of the layout (or at least the insertion of the index), which is currently happening.
I swear, every time I get a [New Comment] about this in my email, I dash over here thinking “isitreadyisitreadyisitreadyisitreadyisitreadyisitready?!?”
We’re bordering on a breach of the Third Law, here. :p
Will this be up for PDF-only (or some PDF+physical combo) order before physical printing is complete so we’d be able to get it sooner?
We’ll likely do an “instant content preorder” — folks who order the book from us or through a Bits & Mortar supporting retail store will get the PDF right away (or as fast as possible via the Bits & Mortar program & the efforts of the given store’s staff). The standalone PDF probably won’t go on sale until the physical book ships.
Fred, that is awesome news… and what I had hoped to hear! Along with tons of others, I am eagerly looking forward the pre-order launch! Thank you all for putting this together!
Fred, I just saw that we now have a release date and a suggested retail price… will you be setting things up for a preorder soon? Yes, I am eager!
Keep your eyes peeled for it to begin sometime in the next two weeks. 🙂
Now the agony of waiting to find somewhere in the UK that will take my preorder 🙂
Contact Leisure Games or any other UK-based Bits & Mortar retailer and point them at the post. The PDF is already up on the Bits & Mortar system, waiting to support stores who support the preorder. 🙂
