Will the magic rules updates be available separately?
They won’t. The why is a little complicated, but licensing allotments play into it as one factor.
Hi Mikeymike,
No plans to do it at the moment. Unlike Fate Core, which we own the license to, the Dresden Files RPG content (besides free adventures) is only available in the books.
Thanks for the suggestion Fred, I emailed leisure games and The Parnet Papers will be availible for preorder this evening or tomorrow 🙂
Been waiting for this for soooooo long. $50 kind of took me aback and shipping is anywhere from roughly $8 to $21. Is this correct for shipping, I thought it was free.
$50 is the same as the cover price of Volume 1: Your Story, for very nearly the same page-count (372 vs low-400). I’d say it’s right on par for expectations for the line. 🙂
It’s a three-and-a-half-pound book, too, so shipping costs will be what they be, there; what we’ve got on our store are what we’re quoted by the automated software for the postal service and/or UPS, plus the handling charge from the fulfillment service we use.
We only offer free shipping on orders that go to an address in the USA, and which total $80 or higher. Toss a few more things in the cart if you want to cut down the shipping cost! 🙂
So I have read through the rules fairly thoroughly and I see that mortal stunts and powers are supposed to have a cost against your refresh points, but nowhere do I see what this cost is. Am I just being reminded why I wear glasses again? Or is this more of a GM ruling thing?
All stunts cost 1 refresh unless noted otherwise.
@David Ruppel – “Each mortal stunt that a character takes reduces his refresh by 1.” Page 146 of Your Story, under the heading “Mortal Stunts vs. Supernatural Powers”
In case you need a clear reference. Not sure about anyone else, but I’ve occasionally dealt with… difficult players… that want “proof” of certain rulings. :p
