I notice that the Rules Reference sheet here is only 1 page. It seems that the sheets are from v8, not v8.1.
Are they going to be updated at any point?

Yep, we’ll be updating the downloads today!

Hi Sean,
The sheets all still say v8, does that mean they haven’t been updated to v8.1 yet? Don’t wanna go printing things off if they’re not up to date yet.
Cheers!

Updated to 8.1 (sorry for the delay).

Would it be possible to get the Vice Purveyors PDF on here as well? It’s the only character-creation necessary PDF that is not readily available.

John is working on a “players kit” which will be a download for creating character and the players rules reference sheet. I just added that to his request list.

The “Players kit” that you (and the rulebook) are refering to, Sean, where can I find it, please?
Sean Nittner

Hi Stefan, it should be available once the bladesinthedark.com website is up (ETA in July).

Just talked to John. He’s finishing up the PoD files at DriveThru and the best should have the Blades site up (along with the player kit) in August.

Hi Jeff, yep, it’s still in the works. For now all the Blades stuff is available on this page.

Hi Sean, I find a lot of the rules in the book are nebulous and I would be more then a little confused if I did not watch the recorded games. When is an advance a “Veteran” advance, and how does demon blood corruption work?
1. A veteran move is one you choose from another source. Typically as a character this means from another character playbook, as a crew from another crew sheet. However as you’ve found there are other kinds of veteran advances as well.
2a. Demon Blood corruption isn’t a mechanical element in the game per se, though I do know that a lot of folks (myself included) have created clocks for it when characters consume demon blood or are affected by demonic influence. As for what that clock does when it fills, that’s up to the table or the GM, depending on circumstances.
2b. Bound to the Demon is an advanced permission, that, once you’ve bound yourself to the demon (how this is done is determined at the table as well) you can take a veteran advance to gain either a Demonic Attendant or a Demonic Artifact. More on both of those on page 235.
Perhaps John should consider redirecting bladesinthedark.com to this page until the site is up and running? It seems like a lot of people will be getting lost now that the book is out.
(Other than the lack of site I’m loving the game so far! Just a suggestion.)

Hello!
I have recently bought your game and while it looks super cool I have a question.
How does one get ahold of the digital copy said to come with the order?
Depends on where you bought it, Anders. Where did you?

I would really love to get my hands on the Iruvia content that was included in in the kick-starter special edition. Will there be a way to either get the content a-la carte, or at least a PDF only version of the Special Edition?

John is slowly working on additional city guides (Lockport right now). Once they are done he may release a compilation of all of them, but that something we’ll have to wait to find out for sure.

Is there an update on the Player Kit? It’s great to hear that John is working on additional content (more city guides), but the Player Kit would be fairly key in onboarding players and smoothing out the learning curve.

Hi Sebastian, I’ve got good news on some fronts leading up to that. We just had a look at the blades website. I needs a few extra touches but should be ready to release in the next week or two. John also got another PoD proof and he’s finally happy with the results, so that should be posted soon.
The upshot of that is that the Players Kit and Bluecoats are next on the list.

Being Canadian, and having purchased the physical book, how do I get a copy of the PDF?
Hi Sean, can you provide us anymore information about the status of the Player Kit and the website? I’d really like to be able to use these resources for my first campaign but the date keeps getting pushed back.

Hi Dan, I’m working with Randy Oeste II (who is hosting the website) and John (who has all the content) to get it loaded and set up for the launch. I’m sorry I don’t have an ETA, but we keep pushing forward on it. We’ll announce as soon as it’s up.

Is there a license for publishing other settings to use these rules?

Hi Ben, once the SRD is released (should be soon, we’re just moving the domain registration over and finishing up a few pages) it will have all the legal information for making games that are Forged in the Dark (i.e. using the Blades in the Dark ruleset).
Hey Sean. I think an update has been overdue for the Kickstarter, as well as the website, playerkit, and pod. Many of us are anxious to see more, and little is being said or supplied. I love you guys, and I know you work hard, and because of that I would love to see progress on a project and group of people that I am emphatic about

Hi Matthew, I completely understand your frustration and apologize for the extended delays. It’s tough because I know the SRD, Website, and PoD are all just around the corner, but that corner has proven much longer than we expected. Thanks so much for your patience as we get it all done.

Hi Jeff,
