Over. Ten. Thousand. Backers.
Don’t get us wrong, here — we’re electrified by the money we’ve raised too, and it’s going to take the company so very far over the next couple years — but the backers, folks. The backers.
You.
When we started this crazy ride two months ago, I’ll be honest: most of us really didn’t have a sense of the magnitude of Fate. But you showed us. You showed us that ten years of hard work and hard play has paid off. You showed us that our own enthusiasm for Fate was matched — and exceeded — by yours.
The last sentence we wrote when we launched this Kickstarter campaign was this: “We intend to impress you.” Turns out that’s a two-way street. Seriously, folks: check yourselves out. You did this!
We’ve worked together to make Fate Core even better. We’ve joined forces to tell the world, loud and clear, that Fate is here and a force to be reckoned with. We’ve broken records, becoming far and away the most populated RPG kickstarter to date. We’ll be feeling the shockwaves from this day for years to come.
Each and every one of us is humbled by what you’ve done here. You’ve made a lot of freelancers happy today, folks we’ve worked with before, folks who were new to us with this project, folks we’ll work with again. The money you’ve pledged in these months will be going into many pockets, heating many homes, filling many bellies.
These are the same folks I should take a moment and thank here. The names you see below all made this crazy KSer happen. Every single one in their own way.
The Evil Hat Crew: Amanda Valentine, Brennan Taylor, Brian Clevinger, Brian Engard, Carrie Harris, Chad Underkoffler, Chris Hanrahan, Clark Valentine, Filamena Young, J. R. Blackwell, Jason Morningstar, Jennifer Jackson, Jeremy Keller, Jess Nevins, Jim Butcher, John Adamus, John Rogers, Justin D. Jacobson, Leonard Balsera, Lisa Steele, Manda Collis, Mark Diaz Truman, Matthew Bowman, Mike Olson, Paul Tevis, Priscilla Spencer, Rob Donoghue, Rob Wieland, Ryan Macklin, Sarah J. Newton, Scott Wegener, Sean Nittner, Shoshana Kessock, Tom Cadorette, and dozens of writers, editors, and artists more — past, present, and future.
And last but not in any way least: you.
You are our core. The Fate Corps. You are the best. And you make us want to be our best, so we might one day be your equals.
Thank you all, so very much.
Fred
P.S. How about you get the Fate dingbat font anyway, right now?
P.P.S. Didn’t think we’d leave you without another sneak peek at something, did you? Have a look at the cover of the upcoming Fate Core driven Atomic Robo RPG, coming this year!

I was glad to have found out about this kickstarter. I can’t wait to see the books. Everything so far is awesome. I’m glad this was so succesful.
