Evil Hat ENnies Recap

As you may have already heard, we had a delightful GenCon and ENnies weekend. Yes, a large part of that was all the WINNING that happened at the ENnies. Here’s a quick rundown in case you missed it:

  • Gold for game of the year (Fate Core)
  • Gold for family game of the year (Fate Accelerated Edition)
  • Gold for best rules (Fate Core)
  • Silver for fan favorite publisher (us)
  • Silver for product of the year (Fate Core)
  • Silver for best accessory (Fate Eldritch dice)
  • Silver for best supplement (Fate System Toolkit)
  • Silver for best RPG related product (Strange Tales of the Century)

You can see a list of all the winners here. We were particularly tickled to share the stage with all of these amazing creators and want to send special congratulatory shout-outs to Monte Cook Games for the Product of the Year win and to Paizo Publishing for the Fan Favorite Publisher win. We’re flattered to be mentioned in the same sentence as all you folks.

But that wasn’t the limit of the awesomeness. One of the best moments of the con was getting so much Evil Hat talent in one room at one time. Thursday’s State of the Hat panel was more fun than a barrel of monkey samurai catapults. Not only did we have an epic panel of epicness, but also we had some terrific members of the Fate Corps community in the audience, complete with Fate Corps shirts. To everyone who took the time out of their con to visit with us, we salute you!

We also want to take the time to thank our ENnies dream date for a) being tremendous fun to hang out with and b) being so understanding about the seating sitch. Another thanks goes to Chris from Greater than Games for being the ENnie Statler to our ENnie Waldorf. And a special congrats goes out to Evil Hat editor-of-things John Adamus for his mid-ENnies engagement to the lovely and talented Ericka. We think you should wear Macklin’s cape and cane during the ceremony. Just a suggestion…

And, last but definitely not least, we want to thank you. Whether you are a devoted member of the Fate Corps, a Fate Core or Fate Dice Kickstarter backer, a talented member of the talented Evil Hat talent, an ENnies judge, someone who has taken Fate into your school like our friend Les Simpson and his students of amazingness…in short, if you’re a member of the Evil Hat family, you quite literally made these awards possible. We are humbled, excited, and motivated to bring the games.

Thank you all, from all of us under the Hat Head:

Fred, Rob, Chris, Sean, and Carrie
