Announcing an Exciting New Game from the Hat!

So far, we’ve brought you a game about using stabby objects from dimly-lit places (otherwise known as Blades in the Dark), but Evil Hat Productions and John Harper/One Seven won’t stop there. We’ve realized that our Wonder Twin powers shouldn’t be just a one-time thing. That’s why we’re announcing an ongoing collaboration, starting with Agon 2nd Edition! You may be familiar with John’s epic RPG of ancient Greek heroes, which was published on a POD basis in 2006. If not, buckle your shields on a bit tighter, because we’re bringing you an updated version of the game. You’ll be able to shield-bash, sword-fight, and trash-talk your way to fame, glory, and epic poetry written in your name.

We’re so psyched about updating this fast-paced, high-action game that we knew we wanted to seek out the perfect person to bring the reboot to light. That’s why John will be working hand-in-hand—or maybe that’s shield-to-shield—with Jason Morningstar on Agon 2e! We’re incredibly excited about this project and the collaborations behind it, and we hope you’re excited too!

In fact, we’d like to get some feedback on this. At the Hat, we consider product planning to be one of our superpowers. We’re early in this process–meaning that work is just getting started, and we’re a couple of years out from seeing it. But pre-planning is what will make this a success. We don’t want to be caught unawares by demand, because we know how aggravating it can be to try desperately to find an awesome game that is out of stock everywhere. We want to print just the right amount of games—like the Baby Bear of print runs. That’s where you come in.

Regardless of your level of interest in Agon, we’d like you to complete this short, four-question survey about the game. Your input will provide invaluable help with our planning. As a thank you, we’ll send you a preview pack full of snippets of current and upcoming releases from Evil Hat and One Seven. Take an inside peek and decide if these games are the right fit for your table. The preview pack will include:
